Shipping
My
Sugar High has been shipping gliders for the past 2 1/2 years. We
want to make sure that both you and your new gliders are not stressed
and are satisfied.
Shipping your sugar gliders is
a fairly standard and easy process. My Sugar High ships through
Continental Airlines and some times through Delta Airlines. We
prefer Continental though but some times Continental doesn't have a
flight to your airport. Continental provides an excellet PetSafe Progrom that ensures your glider will travel in a pressurized, climate-controlled compartment, similar to passenger cabins. Your
gliders will travel in a fleece pouch placed inside a smaller cotnainer
(like a kritter keeper used for lizards or bugs) and then placed inside
an airline approved dog kennel.
If
you decide to adopt your glider through us, we will correspond through
e-mail or on the phone to determine the best shipping date. Your
gliders will be shipped on the first morning flight available, before
the heat becomes too intense. During the winter months, a heat pack
will be included in the carrier cage if necessary. Next, you will be
sent your glider’s complete itinerary with instructions on where to
pick up your new baby. Live animals arrive at the cargo terminal of
major airports, which is usually located in a different building near
the airport.
Costs
It’s important to let you know that we do not make any profit from shipping your sugar gliders. All the
prices quoted below are the costs we pay and are subject to change if
the prices set by Continental Airlines or the vet are changed.
Shipping in the United States through Continental Airlines is $120 plus
tax. This cost remains the same whether you purchase 1 glider or 10.
Continental charges $120 to ship between 0-9 pounds. The kennel, which
costs $30, weighs about 2 lbs so you have 7 pounds left for gliders.
If you return the kennel back to us within 4 weeks you will be refunded the price of the kennel.
My Sugar High charges between $125-$200 for our classic gray gliders,
depending on the age. If you were to buy more then one we do
lower the price for the second glider for the younger joeys. The
older joeys are already discounted!
Here is a breakdown of the required costs listed below.
Shipping $120
Transit Cage $30 (will be refunded IF you send the carrier/kennel back within 4 weeks)
Pouch FREE
Ground Transp. $10
TOTAL: $160 ($130 when you send the carrier back)
Recommended Costs
Continental Airlines does not require health certificates for sugar
gliders, though My Sugar High recommends that one be purchased. A
health certificate is $35 for your sugars. When you purchase a health
certificate, Continental will insure your glider for $1 for every $200.
If you decide not to purchase a health certificate, We encourage you to
take your gliders to a vet at least 72 hours after they’ve arrived at
their new home.
In order to get a health
certificate we have to take your baby to the vet for a health
check. This is an additional $20.

Health Guarantee For Shipping
Before reading the heath guarantee My Sugar High offers, please note
that none of our gliders have suffered shipping-related injuries or
problems and all have arrived healthy and eager to meet their new
family. In fact, because we ship in the early
morning, most gliders are not aware of their journey and stay snuggled
inside their pouch until they reach their adopted parents.
If
you purchase a health certificate, your gliders will get a Health
Guarantee from My Sugar High for 72 hours; however, gliders
will not be guaranteed if they are harmed because of improper placement
of the cage or handling or by another household pet. During this
72-hour period, if your glider exhibits abnormal behavior or diarrhea,
please contact us immediately.
If you decide not the purchase a health certificate, we can only
guarantee that your glider left healthy and alive. Please note that our
veterinarian visits our facility regularly to examine our gliders so we
know our gliders and their joeys are healthy.
If you have any additional questions please ask one of us.
If you agree to the terms and conditions listed above, then you’re
ready to adopt a new member of the family. You can find all of
our precious joeys in the Crib
